Chris Jordan became the first English player to take a hat-trick in T20 Internationals. Interestingly, he achieved this feat in Bridgetown, Barbados where he was born and grew up before settling in England
England thrashed United States of America (USA) by 10 wickets to become the first team to enter semi-finals of the T20 World Cup being played in the West Indies and USA.
England now have four points from two wins in their three matches and they now have to see if they finish first or second in the group.
South Africa will now face West Indies with the winner making it to the semi-final.
England won the toss and opted to bowl and dismissed the Americans for just 115 in 18.5 overs. Chris Jordan became the first English player to take a hat-trick in T20 Internationals. Nitish Kumar top-scored with 30 off 24 balls while Corey Anderson chipped in with 29. Harmeet Singh made 21.
In response, Jos Buttler hammered unbeaten 83 off 38 balls, hitting seven sixes and six fours as England chased the target in 9.4 overs.
“Once we got in a few overs, we tried to target this side with the wind. Adil [Rashid] was fantastic and [Liam] Livingstone bowled brilliantly in tandem,” said Buttler after the match.
Rashid was declared Player of the Match for his 2/13 which applied brakes in the middle-overs.
