Maldives, Indonesia draw unofficial T20 series

Maldives and Indonesia played two unofficial T20 matches in Bangkok on January 29 and 30. Both won one game each to draw the series.

Indonesia and Maldives drew their two-match unofficial T20 series 1-1 in Bangkok.

Maldives won the first match on Monday (Jan 29, 2024) by 10 runs. They scored 128/8 in 20 overs with Azyan Farhath scoring 46 off 47 balls. Padmakar Surve was the bets bowler for Indonesia with 3/15. Indonesia were bowled out for 118 in 19.4 overs. Anjar Tadarus made 32 and captain Kadek Gamantika scored 43. Bowler Umar Adam took 3/17 for Maldives.

Indonesia then won the second match by 12 runs. They made 146/7 in 20 overs. Opener Gede Priandana top-scored with 44 off 40 balls while Surve made 33. Maldives were then restricted to 134/8 in 20 overs with Kaushal Rodrigo top-scoring with 33.

Maldives and Indonesia got their Associate membership in 2017. Both do not have ODI status. This series was a warm-up for Asian Cricket Council T20I Challenger Cup.
