The ICC said the inclusion of Mauritius reflects its commitment to growing cricket in emerging markets and creating greater opportunities for participation and development around the world

Edinburgh: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has admitted Mauritius as its 111th Member, marking another milestone in the global expansion of the sport, following key decisions taken at the conclusion of its Annual Meetings in Edinburgh.
The ICC said the inclusion of Mauritius reflects its commitment to growing cricket in emerging markets and creating greater opportunities for participation and development around the world.
The ICC Board also approved the formation of two new sub-committees aimed at strengthening governance and overseeing the rapid growth of franchise leagues.
A Governance Review Committee has been constituted with Devajit Saikia (BCCI) as chair, alongside Dr Mohammed Moosajee (Cricket South Africa) and Dr Ros Rivaz (ICC Independent Director).
A new Franchise Leagues Committee has also been established under the chairmanship of Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh Cricket Board). The committee includes Dr Rudie van Vuuren (Cricket Namibia), Devajit Saikia (BCCI), Richard Gould (England and Wales Cricket Board) and Todd Greenberg (Cricket Australia).
In another significant decision, the Board approved a $12.82 million loan to Cricket West Indies to support the regional governing body.
The Board also dealt with several membership matters. It approved reinstatement conditions for Cricket Canada, outlining the requirements that must be fulfilled before its suspension from ICC membership can be lifted. Cricket Canada will remain suspended until those conditions are met.
On Sri Lanka Cricket, the Board noted progress towards adopting a revised constitution and reiterated that elections should be held as soon as possible. Until then, Sri Lanka Cricket will continue to remain unrepresented at ICC Board meetings.
The Board also recognised the appointment of the newly elected Bangladesh Cricket Board President as the country's Full Member Director on the ICC Board.
Meanwhile, the ICC Annual General Meeting agreed to place France Cricket on notice for breaches of the ICC Membership Criteria.
