Nepal, Hong Kong and Malaysia topped their respective groups to move into quarter-final stage where they will face India, Pakistan and Bangladesh respectively
Nepal, Hong Kong and Malaysia are the three Associate nations to qualify for the Asian Games quarter-final matches in Hangzhou, China.
The three teams topped their respective pools, all winning both their games and emerging as the best of the three teams.
Nepal topped Group A ahead of Madives and Mongolia, Hong Kong came on top in pool B, finishing ahead of Japan and Cambodia while Malaysia won the Group C ahead of Singapore and Thailand.
Nepal will play India in the first quarter-final while Hong Kong will face Pakistan in the second quarter-final on Tuesday, October 3.
Malaysia will play Bangladesh in the fourth quarter-final on Wednesday, October 4.
The third quarter-final or Wednesday’s first match will be played between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. None of the teams needed to play the qualifiers and this contest will be the most evenly-matched among all the matches in the quarter-final stage.
