Nepal make it to Super Sixes stage of under-19 World Cup

The south Asian nation have become the only one of four Associates competing in South Africa to make it to the Super Sixes stage. They progressed at the expense of Afghanistan

Nepal became the only Associate nation to qualify for the Super Sixes stage of the ongoing ICC under-19 World Cup in South Africa.

There were four Associate nations in the tournament that saw 16 teams compete. USA, Namibia and Scotland were the other teams  in the tournament without Test status.

Nepal defeated Afghanistan by one wicket on January 26 and lost to Pakistan and New Zealand to finish third in Group D and progress as one of the 12 teams.

They have been grouped with India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Ireland in Group 1 of the Super Sixes.

Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, England and Zimbabwe form Group 2 of the Super Sixes stage. India, Pakistan and Australia are the only teams that have progressed to the next stage with four points.
