Saskia Horley, Freya Sargent nominated for ICC Emerging Women's Cricketer Award

Saskia Horley from Scotland and Freya Sargent from Ireland are among the four nominees for the ICC Emerging Women's Cricketer of the Year Award along with South Africa's Annerie Dercksen and India's Shreyanka Patil

Saskia Horley of Scotland Freya Sargent of Ireland are among the players nominated for the ICC Emerging Women’s Cricketer of the Year. They are in competition with Annerie Dercksen of South Africa and Shreyanka Patil of India.

Saskia Meg Horley, a 24-year-old, is an Australian cricketer who plays for Scotland. She represented New South Wales and Sydney Thunders in Australian domestic cricket.

Saskia, who was first named in Scotland’s squad in August 2022, played five Women’s ODI matches in 2024 and scored 276 runs with a highest score of 100. Her batting average was 69.00. She took nine wickets at an average of 8.88.

Freya Alexandra Sargant is an 18-year-old cricketer who plays for Ireland and Typhoons (in Women’s Super Series).

She is an off-spinner and right-handed batter who primarily plays as a bowler for the national team.

She has played 13 Women’s ODIs and picked 17 wickets at an average of 33.47.

In 2024, she took 13 wickets in 11 Women’s ODIs at 38.30 and seven wickets in nine T20 Internationals.
