Seven Associate players in New York Strikers for Max 60 Caribbean League

Waseem and Jawad Ullah from UAE, Naidoo, Morris and Taylor from Cayman Islands, Fleming from Japan and McMullen from Scotland are part of the squad

As many as seven players in New York Strikers’ squad of 16 for the Max60 Caribbean League are from Associate nations. The T10 tournament is being staged in the Cayman Islands and begins on August 18.

Muhammad Waseem and Muhammad Jawad Ullah from the United Arab Emirates, Akshay Naidoo, Alessandro Morris and Troy Taylor from the Cayman Islands, K Kadowaki Fleming from Japan and Brandon McMullen from Scotland are part of the squad.

UAE’s Waseem scored 158 runs for Colombo Strikers in six matches at the recent Lanka Premier League with one half-century.

Talking about participation at the upcoming Max 60 Caribbean League, Waseem said, “The team is hoping for a successful opening game against the Caribbean Giants.  The fact that we are flexible is to our advantage. Preserving our edge and strengthening it is our objective.”
