The USA Cricket have announced the departure of Men’s National Team Head Coach, Stuart Law, a former Australia cricketer who led the team to a historic performance at the ICC T20 World Cup.
Law was appointed to the position in April, 2024, and led the team during USA’s historic performance at this year’s T20 World Cup, where the team advanced to the Super 8 in their inaugural World Cup appearance, beating Pakistan and taking the fight to India.
“Given Stuart’s contribution to the program, this was not an easy decision to make,” said Johnathan Atkeison, CEO of USA Cricket, in a statement issued by the Board. “Unfortunately, we felt that a change was necessary for the next phase of competitive preparation.”
Venu Pisike, Chair of USA Cricket added, “We thank Stuart for his contributions to USA Cricket during his tenure. We wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors.”
The Men’s National Team played their first match without Law in charge in a Cricket World Cup (CWC) League 2 matchup where they defeated Nepal by three wickets.
They will next play Scotland on October 31 in a CWC League 2 fixture.
The USA are currently attempting to qualify for the 50-over World Cup for the first time and have made a strong start in their ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 campaign.
They are second on the table of eight teams.
According to sections of the media, the cause of Law’s removal was his rift with captain Monank Patel.
