Thirty Associate nation players to go under hammer in IPL auction

There are four players registered for auction from Canada, one from Italy, 12 from Netherlands, two from Scotland, one from UAE, and 10 from USA

As many as 30 players from Associate nations will be in fray for the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction that is scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25.

“1574 Player Registrations. 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players, & 30 players from Associate Nations. 204 slots up for grabs. 24th and 25th November, 2024. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia,” the Indian Premier League posted on X (formerly Twitter).

There are four players registered for auction from Canada, one from Italy, 12 from Netherlands, two from Scotland, one from UAE, and 10 from USA.

It should be noted that there are no players registered from Uganda, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Oman, and Namibia, which also participated in the T20 World Cup in 2024.

Among the young Test nations, 29 are registered from Afghanistan, and nine from Ireland.

“The IPL player registration officially closed on November 4, 2024, with an impressive total of 1,574 players (1,165 Indian and 409 overseas) signing up to be part of the mega TATA IPL 2025 Player Auction, which will be held over two days on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The list includes 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players, and 30 players from Associate Nations,” said the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)-run IPL through a statement.
