15 Feb, 2024

Uganda Cricket Association announces $1,000 award for the winner of the competition to design the national jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup

Buoyant after qualifying for the T20 World Cup to be held in the West Indies and the USA, the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) have come up with a novel idea of involving their fans in the team by inviting them to design the team jerseys.

The association has announced an award of US$1,000 for the first prize.

The initial deadline for the submission of the design was February 8 but it was then extended to February 14.

“Be part of the Cricket Cranes journey to the World Cup by designing the World Cup Jersey.  Visit http://ugandacricket.com for guidelines. There is $1k USD for the winning design,” the Uganda Cricket Association wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Uganda, also known as Cricket Cranes, have yellow jerseys with red stripes running across.

They will be playing in a cricket World Cup for the first time in history as a country, although a couple of their players had been part of East Africa team in 1975.
