Riding on key spells from Sikandar Raza and Richard Ngarava, Zimbabwe beat Tanzania by nine wickets following a shock loss to Namibia in the World T20 Africa Qualifiers; Kenya beat Nigeria by four wickets

Following their shock loss to Namibia, on the first day of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Region Qualifier 2023, Zimbabwe came back to score a convincing nine-wicket win over Tanzania in Windhoek, Namibia.
Tanzania were restricted to 96/9 in 20 overs. At one point they looked like scoring much less, having been reduced to 55/8. However, the ninth-wicket stand of 39 took them into the 90s.
Pace bowler Richard Ngarava (3/17) and skipper and all-rounder Sikandar Raza (3/10) took three wickets each. Raza was Player of the Match.
Zimbabwe achieved the target in 10.4 overs with Sean Williams (36 not out) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (39 not out) adding unbeaten 62 for the second wicket.
In the other match of the day, Kenya defeated Nigeria by four wickets. Nigeria made 121/7 in 20 overs and in response, Kenya made 124/6 in 19.5 overs.
